A quick question related to the use of an OEM module where there is no support for a display. Are there commands available that allow for configuration and/or display of parameters over a serial port? If not, once an app is resident, can parameters be set via SMS? That would solve our issue.

Many thanks.

There is a trick that application can emulate e.g. phohebook for sms files. Once you modifiy it with AT commands (write/read/delete) then app gets/passes config/data/whatever. Look at turbo-cable-utils package, we use AT commands for SMS to upload apps to turbo itself.

Of course ordinary SMS is also possible way.

Thank you for the quick response. This looks very promising. Do you have dimensions for the self-contained Turbo SIM solution? There are some solutions that use a locking SIM connector where the SIM is inserted and locks in place until it is pushed again and can be removed. It is not like phone SIM interfaces where there is a latching hinge or ability to slide the SIM into the carrier. If dimensions are available, I can determine if the desired SIM interface will work. Once again, many thanks.

I think you mean the push-push connectors. We have experience with Keyocera - ok, no problem, and Yamaichi - unusable, too narrow. On the other hand the yamaichi have problems even with some ordinary sim cards so there seems to be something wrong with them.

Turbo sim is max 1.1mm height - pcb is less than 0.1mm, it itself follows sim specs. The only issue could be with sim on the edge of specs - 1.1 together with turbo sim -> ~1.2mm.

What device do you plan to use? It seems as some module, right?
