I am still having problem making correct contact between my sim card and TSIM.

I notice the TSIM contacts closest to the side of the notch doesn't contact well with my AT&T and local 3G sim cards.

Mmm, check if there is not any residue of cover mask - black spots. You may also try to place piece of paper under your card so that phone contacts push more. What phone/cards? You mentioned ATT card yesterday.

AT&T 3G card, the one that comes with the iPhone.

I notice this type of sim card works http://us.gizmodo.com/images/Sim%20card%20-%201.JPG while this type doesn't work http://image.blog.livedoor.jp/zacky3/imgs/d/0/d0cc2642.JPG

the reason is that, both urls have a puncutation mark at the end, which gives the error. remove them and you are ready to go.

The first design is GEMPLUS, today Gemalto, we have such cards, the issue won't be the design.

Oz - could you not try and use program that PZ mentioned in the previous thread to insert ICCID and IMSI manually - in that case you wouldnt need AT&T card??

then it's really puzzling...

when I program the TSIM, do i need to use the same card as the one i am going to use? I know that I was using the 2nd design card to flash the TSIM.

it's not about the AT&T card. It's about my local carrier card (3G) that has the same design as the AT&T sim. Both I couldn't use it with TSIM Sad

To Oz - Oh ok - I thought it was just the initial phase where you were experiencing problems (i.e. inserting AT&T SIM to get TSIM to copy IMSI and ICCID).

I just checked my O2 sim (here in UK) and it is the latter (2nd design) on your message above - so hopefully when I get TSIM I hp I dont get contact problems.

I think PZ suggestion of inserting a bit of paper in the TSIM to push the contacts together seems like a good one.

i tried the paper trick - no luck Sad

pz: i put the gemalto sim with TSIM in the SIM slot of TP2, then cemu --info -d COMx, stuck at SIM_ATR. But if I use the TSIM with the silvercard (2nd design) it works no problem.

Now this is getting to be interesting. So it doesn't work even with TL2? This is important report. What card is this and where we can get it?

I was confused because you mentioned ATT card which we tested. Does ATT issue more different cards together with iphone? Please understand that all our knowledge is ~2 hours with iphone and one card. I don't know if there are more types in wild with iphone, we don't follow iphone discussions at all.

pz: my AT&T uses the gemalto design, same as my local carrier's 3g sim. Both of them are USIM.

Being USIM is not problem, this maybe something timing related, etc. There are many possible reasons. Important question, please try: Does TL2+ATT/the_other_card work? When doing such reports please report also what phone was used - given SIM may behave differently in other phones. And really if you can try use TL2 so we can avoid mechanical problems.
